USILA Division I Poll: UMass Still No. 1
At least UMass has something to hang its hat on. The Minutemen, seeded sixth in the NCAA tournament, end the regular season ranked No. 1 by the coaches.
Yale (+4): The Bulldogs are Ivy League champions. How does that sound? Yale won its ninth straight game to knock off Princeton in the Ivy League final Sunday and will make its first NCAA tournament since 1992 at Notre Dame.
Maryland (-4): The Terps traveled to Hamilton, N.Y., and ran into a Colgate group determined to get a win, after they beat the Terps last year on the final weekend of the regular season and still missed the NCAA tournament. It was a different story this time around.
Cornell (-4): The Big Red lost to Yale in the Ivy semifinals, but held out hope it would make the field. They didn't. What a tough way for the season to end. Three straight losses. Rob Pannell never saw the field after being injured early in the year against Army.
Syracuse: Back from the
dead thanks to winning the Big East tournament.
Ohio State: The odd-team out with Syracuse's ascent.
