from press release

BURLINGTON, Vt. — Senior Fergus Campbell (New Canaan, Conn.) made 15 saves to help lead the Dartmouth men's lacrosse team to a 10-5 victory at Vermont on Tuesday. Campbell played inspired lacrosse from the start with five saves in the first quarter. He added four in the second, two in the third and four in the fourth. The 15 saves tied a season high for Campbell who also had 15 saves at Colgate and at North Carolina. The total also moved the senior to sixth on the all-time saves list with 490. While Campbell was stopping shots, the Dartmouth offense scored early and often. Junior Chris Costabile (Sykesville, Md.) recorded the game's first goal off an assist from senior Drew Tunney (Greenwich, Conn.), 4:23 into the opening period. After Tunney assisted on the first goal, he scored the Big Green's second with four minutes remaining in the quarter.

Vermont cut the lead to 2-1 with a late goal in the first, but Dartmouth took control of the game in the second. The team outscored the Catamounts 5-0 in the quarter to take a 7-1 lead into halftime. Costabile, senior Kip Dooley (Minneapolis, Minn.), Tunney, senior Thomas Mattimore (Tiburon, Calif.) and junior Nikki Dysenchuk (Darien, Conn.) each scored in the second period.

In the third, Vermont started to cut into the Dartmouth lead scoring the only two goals of the period. The Catamount run continued in the final quarter, scoring the first two goals to cut the lead to 7-5 with 14:12 left in the game. The Big Green responded with the final three scores to seal a 10-5 victory.
