Princeton Announces Nine-Member Class of 2015
from press release
The Princeton men's lacrosse team will welcome nine new members who will make up the program's Class of 2015, head coach Chris Bates announced Thursday.
The nine players come from seven different states and one Canadian province.
"The biggest thing that sticks out for me with this class is that they all come from winning programs," Bates said. "It's always good to have players who are conditioned to winning and understand what it takes to win."
The class features two players from the Haverford School in Pennsylvania, which was ranked No. 1 nationally last year in several high school polls.
There are also players from California, Florida, New Jersey, Virginia, Connecticut and New York, as well as Ontario.
The Class of 2015 will be part of Bates' third team at Princeton. After going 11-5 and leading Princeton to the Ivy League championship, the Ivy League tournament championship and NCAA tournament in 2010, Bates saw his team decimated by injuries in 2011, a season that saw Princeton go 4-8.
The 2012 Tigers will be feature three All-Americas in senior defenseman Chad Wiedmaier, senior goalie Tyler Fiorito and sophomore midfielder Tom Schreiber, as well as All-Ivy League longstick midfielder John Cunningham.
