Harvard's Eipp Earns Ivy Rookie Honor
from press release
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – After scoring four goals and finishing with a total of five points last week, freshman midfielder Daniel Eipp of the Harvard men's lacrosse team has been tabbed the Ivy League Rookie of the Week.
Eipp, a native of Groton, Mass., tallied a goal and dished out an assist in the Crimson's comeback win over then-No. 14 Massachusetts March 29. He also picked up a ground ball in the 11-9 win for Harvard, which improved the Crimson's home record to 5-0 this season.
In Saturday's 12-11 loss at Albany, Eipp scored three goals on only six shots. Eipp, who was also honored as the Ivy Rookie of the Week March 14, netted his second goal to tie the game, 9-9, early in the fourth quarter. He then gave the Crimson a 10-9 lead, but Albany eventually rallied for the win.
Through nine games this season, Eipp ranks third on the Crimson with 18 points and 12 goals.
Eipp and the Crimson (6-3, 1-1 Ivy) will host No. 6 Cornell (7-2, 3-0) for an Ivy League contest Saturday, April 9 at 2:10 p.m. The game will be shown live nationally on CBS College Sports.
