Dartmouth Wins Third Straight

WORCESTER, Mass. — The Dartmouth men's
lacrosse team improved its winning streak to three games on
Wednesday with a 16-7 victory at Holy Cross. The Big Green improved
to 3-1 on the season, and the Crusaders dropped to 0-4.
Freshman Jeff Perkins (Dallas, Texas) scored his first three career
goals on Sunday against Mercer and continued the scoring streak by
tallying five goals against Holy Cross. Perkins also added an
assist in the contest for seven points. He now has eight goals on
the season and nine points. Sophomore Nikki Dysenchuck (Darien,
Conn.) and junior Drew Tunney (Greenwich, Conn.) each added three
goals to help pace the team.
After the Crusaders tied the game at 3-3 with 26 seconds left in
the first period, the Big Green scored nine straight goals to blow
the game open and take a 12-3 lead. The run spanned 21:15 of game
time and Perkins scored three of the nine goals.
Dartmouth scored two man-up goals in the contest and a man-down
score. Junior Fergus Campbell (New Canaan, Conn.) made eight saves
in net to earn the victory. Junior Kip Dooley (Minneapolis, Minn.)
had five points in the game on two goals and three assists. He
leads the team in points on the season with 14 on six goals and
eight assists.
It is the first three-game winning streak for Dartmouth since the
2007 season when the team won four straight.
The Big Green next play on their spring break trip when they play
at Duke on Sunday, March 20, at 1 p.m.
