Detroit Mercy's Adams Earns Third Straight MAAC Weekly Award

EDISON, N.J. -- For the third straight week, Detroit freshman Shayne Adams (St. Catharines, ON/Denis Morris) earned a MAAC weekly award as the leading Titan scorer was once again named the conference's Rookie of the Week, announced on Monday evening.
Adams led Detroit's offense with four goals against Lehigh, including three in the second half as the red, white and blue tried to mount a late comeback. He also caused two turnovers and had a ground ball.
For the year, Adams' tops the team with 17 goals. His 17 markers are tied for the most in the nation (Chris Bocklet, Virginia), while his 2.83 goals per game ranks 13th in the country.
It is the second time on the year that Adams has won the rookie the rookie of the week accolade. He also took home the MAAC's Player of the Week honor last week.
The Offensive Player of the Week went to Bobby Stockton of Jacksonville, while Siena's Tom Morr was named the Defensive Player of the Week.
Detroit will return to action on Wednesday, Mar. 9, as the Titans travel to face Mount St. Mary's.
