Detroit's Adams Named MAAC Rookie of Week

EDISON, NJ -- Freshman Shayne Adams (St. Catharines, ON/Denis Morris) added an award to his fast collegiate start as the Titan rookie was tabbed the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference's (MAAC) Rookie of the Week on Tuesday.

The first MAAC weekly award takes into account the all games played by member schools since the start of the lacrosse season.

Adams leads the Titans with six points on six goals in Detroit's first four games. He started his collegiate career by netting a hat trick at No. 17 Delaware. He would go on to add a pair of markers at Bellarmine and a goal at No. 4 Maryland. He also picked up four ground balls and caused a turnover.

Bryan Neufeld of Siena was named the conference's Offensive Player of the Week, while Marist's Kevin Defranco was selected the Defensive POW.
