CBS-CS to Televise 11 Patriot Games

from press release

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – CBS College Sports Network will televise at least 11 Patriot League men's and women's lacrosse contests during the 2011 season.

In addition, CBS College Sports Network will televise the Patriot League Women's Lacrosse championship game for the first-time ever. The women's championship game is slated for Saturday, April 30 at 3 p.m.

The first of the eight men's contests to be televised is Navy hosting in-state rival Maryland on Friday, April 8 at 7 p.m. at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Md. Next is the annual Army-Navy tilt, which this season will hail from Annapolis on Saturday, April 16 at 2 p.m.

That will mark the first of two consecutive days in which the network will show a men's contest involving a Patriot League team. One day later on Sunday, April 17 at 12 noon, CBS College Sports Network will televise the North Carolina-Lehigh game from Goodman Stadium in Bethlehem, Pa.

The following weekend, CBS College Sports Network will televise a critical men's League showdown when Bucknell visits Colgate on Saturday, April 23 at 7 p.m. in Hamilton, N.Y. The last of the four regular-season men's contests to be televised features Army entertaining Johns Hopkins in a non-League tilt at Michie Stadium in West Point, N.Y. on Friday, May 6 at 7 p.m.

CBS College Sports Network will televise two Patriot League women's lacrosse regular-season contests in addition to the championship. The first game features defending champion Navy hosting Colgate on Saturday, April 9 at 12 p.m. On Saturday, April 23 at 3 p.m., the Midshipmen welcome 2010 runner-up and regular-season champion Lehigh to Annapolis. Both contests will take place at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.

For the third straight year, CBS College Sports Network will televise all three games of the Patriot League Men's Lacrosse Tournament. The Patriot League Men's Lacrosse Tournament is the only conference tournament to be nationally televised in its entirety. The semifinals will take place Friday, April 29 at 5 p.m. and 7:45 p.m., while the championship is slated for Sunday, May 1 at 3 p.m. All three games will be hosted by the tournament's No. 1 seed, which goes to the team with the best regular-season record in League play.
