will join the Bearcats for the 2011 season.
"On behalf of the Binghamton University Lacrosse Program, I am
pleased to announce our fall 2010 incoming class," head coach Ed
Stephenson said. "Our coaching staff is extremely excited about the
13 student athletes that will be joining us this fall. The class
includes eleven players from the state of New York along with one
from Maryland as well as our first international recruit coming
from Canada.
From Long Island come midfielders Alex Doerflein (Rockville Center,
N.Y./ Southside), Kevin McDonough (Oakdale, N.Y./St. Anthony's),
defenders Greg Cove (Rockville Centre, N.Y./Southside) and Josh
Potter (Port Washington, N.Y./Port Washington) and goalie Max
Schefler (East Meadow, N.Y./East Meadow).
Garrett Augustyn (Snyder, N.Y./Amherst) and Shawn Needham (Hamburg,
N.Y./ Hamburg) are both defenders from the Buffalo area. Locally,
the Bearcats landed a pair of attackmen in Kyle Bakker (Binghamton,
N.Y./Chenango Valley) and Brandon Planck (Cortland,
N.Y./Cortland).
Rounding out this year's incoming class are attackmen Michael
Antinozzi (Fallston, N.Y./ Fallston) and Kelly Donigan
(Skaneateles, N.Y./Skaneateles), midfielder Jordan Trip (Aurora,
Ontario/St. Andrews) and defender Ed Kashmer (North Syracuse,
N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse).
"First and foremost, these are fine young men of strong character
and exceptional academic credentials," Stephenson said. "We have a
long established culture of academic excellence in our program, and
these incoming student-athletes will surely add to it. This group
is also gifted athletically and will no doubt increase our depth,
and raise our level of play. I am looking forward to working
them."ESTAL, N.Y. -- The Binghamton men's lacrosse team has
