Tierney Adds Sheridan to Denver Staff

from press release

DENVER — Former Lebanon Valley College assistant Dylan Sheridan will join the University of Denver men’s lacrosse coaching staff for the 2010-11 season as the volunteer assistant coach, head coach Bill Tierney announced today.

“We are thrilled to have Dylan join us in our second year at DU,” Tierney said. “He brings a lot of energy and enthusiasm, to our staff and will be well-liked by our players. Dylan has worked camps and tournaments for us already and has shown a true love for the game and an immense desire to teach skills and life lessons to the young men he coaches.”

While at Lebanon Valley College (DIII), Sheridan assisted John Haus in resurrecting the Flying Dutchmen men’s lacrosse program.

Prior to his time at LVC, Sheridan served as an assistant at St. Mary’s College in California (DI) and Pfeiffer University (DII). Sheridan also has a wealth of experience coaching internationally, having served as a director for the USA Starz program.

“Dylan is hard working and multi-talented,” Tierney said. “He will assist Coach Brown with the offense, work with our face-off players and be instrumental in our game day preparation. He will also help the assistant coaches with camps, clinics and the Denver Elite Club Team.”

A 2006 graduate of Claremont McKenna College, Sheridan was a four-year member of the Stags football team. On the lacrosse field, he was a three-time captain, MCLA All-America, and All-WCLL selection. In 2006, Sheridan was named the West Coast Lacrosse League Player of the Year, and chosen to the MCLA All-Tournament Team.

Sheridan was four-year letter winner and captain at Western Reserve Academy for Hall of Fame coach Skip Flanagan. During that period, WRA competed in three consecutive Ohio State Championship games, winning the title in 2001.

As captain of the WRA football team, his junior and senior seasons, he led the squad to back-to-back Interstate Prep School League championships.
