THE SERIES
Since the Pioneers joined the NCAA Division I ranks in 1999, the Pioneers have not faced the Greyhounds.

SCOUTING LOYOLA
The Loyola Greyhounds come into this weekend's match-up on a six-game winning streak, boasting a 9-2 overall record and a perfect 6-0 mark in ECAC play. The game will be the third time in four weeks that the Greyhounds have played another ranked opponent, claiming wins over No. 14 Fairfield (9-4) and No. 9 Georgetown (11-6). The Greyhounds are bringing with them the No. 1 ranked defense in the country to the Mile-High City, having allowed 7.18 goals per game this season. Offensively, the Greyhounds' Collin Finnerty leads the team with 22 goals and 32 points, while Cooper MacDonnell has scored 21 goals in eight games and is currently on a 26-game point scoring streak. Defensively, John Schiavone leads the team with 66 ground balls and has won 130 of 215 face-offs this season.

PIONEER CHECK-IN
Denver extended its winning streak to seven games with its second come-from-behind victory in consecutive weeks as it topped the No. 17/18 Fairfield University Stags 9-8 in the Inaugural ESPNU Warrior Classic at Rentschler Field in East Hartford, Conn. For the second straight week, sophomore Mark Matthews (Oshawa, Ontario) scored the game-winner for the Pioneers, while also providing the goals that tied the game at 5-5 and at 8-8. The attachkman finished the day with three goals on five shots, registering his sixth hat trick of the season, earning him ECAC Co-Offensive Player of the Week honors for the second straight week. Matthews has scored two or more goals in 10 of the Pioneers' 14 games this season and is second on the team with 28 goals and 35 points. Sophomore Alex Demopoulos (Canton, Conn.) continues to lead the Pioneers in goals (29) and points (46), while freshman Cameron Flint (Georgetown, Ontario) is third on the team with 20 goals. Senior Dillon Roy (Denver, Colo.) continues to lead the Pioneers defensively with 67 ground balls and 29 caused turnovers, and also has the team's best face-off win-loss percentage with 53.8 percent on 50-of-93 face-offs.
