Titans Hope to Make it Two Straight vs. VMI

from press release

DETROIT
- After posting the first win in men's lacrosse history their last time out against Presbyterian, the Titans head back into MAAC action when they host VMI on Saturday at noon on Titan Field.

Tickets for all home Titan lacrosse games start at $5 per adults and $3 for children 13 and younger and senior citizens (60 and older). Group tickets are also available for $3 per ticket for groups of 15 or more. If you can't make it to the game, you can follow the contest with live stats, which can be accessed by visiting the men's lacrosse schedule page.

Detroit saw freshman Tyler Staruch score a school record five goals, while junior Tim Lehto added three of his own, including the first two goals on the day for UDM. When it was all said and done, the Titans beat the Blue Hose, 16-12, on Monday to move to 1-6 on the season. The red, white and blue will now look to notch its first conference victory after opening league play with an 11-8 setback at Manhattan last week.

VMI comes into the contest at 2-6 overall and 0-1 in the MAAC. The Keydets have lost four in a row, including a heartbreaking 8-7 overtime game in their conference opener against Marist last week. Tim Moran leads the offense with 25 points on 16 goals and nine assists, while Colin Bosse has tallied 12 goals and three helpers for 15 points.

Detroit and VMI have played two common opponents so far in Robert Morris and Presbyterian, with the state supported military academy coming away with a 14-7 win at PC and a 19-8 home loss to the Colonials.

The weekend will also feature head coach Matt Holtz appearing on Lacrosse Talk radio live on Sunday at 7:10 p.m. (EST). Lacrosse Talk is a two-hour radio talk show dedicated to ALL things lacrosse.
