Stony Brook Entertains Big Red Tuesday

from press release

STONY BROOK, N.Y.
– Looking to get back into the win column, the #17/17 (IL/USILA) Stony Brook men's lacrosse team hosts #7/9 Cornell on Tuesday night at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium. Face-off is scheduled for 7 pm. Fans can hear the game locally on WUSB 90.1 and www.GoSeawolves.org.

Matt Mankiewich and Mike Solano will broadcast all the action, while Frank Barile and Brendan Chamberlain provide insight and analysis. Live Stats and Video Streaming are also available at GoSeawolves.org. This will be just the third all-time meeting between the Seawolves and Big Red. Stony Brook's only NCAA Tournament appearance came against Cornell (L, 12-3) in 2002.

Last Time Out
Juniors Kevin Crowley (New Westminster, British Columbia) and Jordan McBride (New Westminster, British Columbia) each scored three goals but it was not enough as Denver rallied to top Stony Brook, 13-12, on Saturday afternoon at LaValle Stadium. The Pioneers outscored the Seawolves, 6-1, in the fourth quarter. Senior Tom Compitello (Hauppauge, N.Y.) had a goal and four assists for Stony Brook (4-2), which had eight different players score goals.

Scouting the Big Red
Cornell (5-1) won its first Ivy League of the season, 18-7, over Yale on Saturday. Ryan Hurley leads the team with 18 goals. Smithtown native Rob Pannell is the Big Red's only double-digit scorer (11g, 14a). AJ Fiore has played the majority of time in goal this season, but he and Mat Martinez split time against Yale.
