HC's Kennedy Named Patriot's Top Rookie

from press release

WORCESTER, Mass.
– Holy Cross freshman James Kennedy (Summit, N.J.) has been named the Patriot League Men's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week for recording five goals and one assist for six points in two games on the week. Kennedy was a major factor in Holy Cross' first ever wins over Dartmouth and Colgate as the Crusaders had lost 28 straight to the Big Green and 20 straight to the Raiders. This is the first time he earned this honor.

In the 13-8 win at Dartmouth on March 9, Kennedy posted one goal and one assist for two points. In the 9-8 victory over Colgate at the new Holy Cross Field on March 13, he scored a season-best four goals, including his first collegiate game-winner with just three seconds left in regulation. Kennedy has posted at least one point in five of the six games this season as he is second on the team with 14 points and is tied for second with 10 goals. His four assists are fourth. Kennedy's 1.67 goals per game are tied for ninth in the Patriot League.

The Crusaders (2-4 overall, 1-0 Patriot League) will return to action when they travel to West Hartford, Conn., to play Hartford (1-4 overall) on Wednesday, March 17, at 3:30 p.m., at Yousuf Al-Marzook Field.
