HC's Kennedy Named Patriot's Top Rookie

WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross freshman James Kennedy
(Summit, N.J.) has been named the Patriot League Men's Lacrosse
Rookie of the Week for recording five goals and one assist for six
points in two games on the week. Kennedy was a major factor in Holy
Cross' first ever wins over Dartmouth and Colgate as the Crusaders
had lost 28 straight to the Big Green and 20 straight to the
Raiders. This is the first time he earned this honor.
In the 13-8 win at Dartmouth on March 9, Kennedy posted one goal
and one assist for two points. In the 9-8 victory over Colgate at
the new Holy Cross Field on March 13, he scored a season-best four
goals, including his first collegiate game-winner with just three
seconds left in regulation. Kennedy has posted at least one point
in five of the six games this season as he is second on the team
with 14 points and is tied for second with 10 goals. His four
assists are fourth. Kennedy's 1.67 goals per game are tied for
ninth in the Patriot League.
The Crusaders (2-4 overall, 1-0 Patriot League) will return to
action when they travel to West Hartford, Conn., to play Hartford
(1-4 overall) on Wednesday, March 17, at 3:30 p.m., at Yousuf
Al-Marzook Field.
