Bearse Named Captain for Hartford Men

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - Head Coach Peter
Lawrence and the Hartford coaching staff are pleased to announce
senior attackman Justin Bearse as team captain for the upcoming
2010 season.
Bearse comes off a great junior campaign with the Hawks where he
finished with 12 points and 10 assists, ranking fourth on the team
in scoring with a career-best 22 points. A co-captain in 2009,
Bearse recorded three multi-goal games, including hat tricks
against Siena and Stony Brook. The Hyannis, Mass. native has never
missed a game in his three seasons, logging time in 39 games with
notching 49 career points (34 goals, 18 assists).
"He is a man of great character and accountability," remarked
Lawrence. "He has set the standard very high in our program and has
the respect of his peers, the administration, faculty and coaches.
We are all very proud of what he is doing for our program and our
University."
An insurance and finance major, Bearse is a two-time America East
Academic Honor Roll selection.
Bearse and the Hawks kick-off the 2010 season away from West
Hartford, Conn. when they meet the University of Massachusetts
Minutemen on Saturday, February 20 at Garber Field. Hartford will
play its first home game on Al-Marzook Field at Alumni Stadium on
Saturday, February 27 when it welcomes the Delaware Blue Hens for a
1:00 p.m. start.
