from press release
Towson's Will Harrington scored four goals, all in the third
period, as the Tigers defeated Drexel, 10-2, in the Colonial
Athletic Association Semifinals. The Tigers advanced to the
championship game, where they will host Villanova, who upset
top-seeded Hofstra.
Towson (7-9) got on the board first late in the first period, when
Bill McCutcheon came in from behind the net, spun by a Drexel
defender and fired a shot past Mark Manos. Less than a minute later
the Tigers scored again when McCutcheon fed Tim Stratton at the
doorstep to make it 2-0. Towson outshot the Dragons (7-8) in the
first period, 14-3. The Tigers added another pair of goals in the
second period. Brock Armour ran in from the left side and bounced a
shot past Manos with 8:36 left, and Pat Britton's shot from 15
yards out with 6:32 left made it a 4-0 game at intermission.
Harrington scored four of Towson's five goals in the third period
as the Tigers took control of the game. Drexel finally got on the
board when Kyle Bergman fed Kevin Stockel who fired a shot from
less than 10 yards out from the right side. Colin Ambler added a
late goal for Drexel. It gave him 114 career points, which moved
him into 20th place on Drexel's all-time list. Towson finished the
scoring with a Stratton goal as the Dragons pressed and left the
cage open.
The Tigers outshot Drexel, 33-31. Towson goalkeeper Rob Wheeler
had an outstanding game in the cage and came up with a career-high
17 saves. Drexel's Mark Manos had 11 saves, marking his ninth
