Colgate Opens PL Schedule with Win

HAMILTON, N.Y. - ­ Senior Kevin Colleluori (Bethpage, N.Y.) scored
seven times and five other Raiders added two goals apiece as Colgate downed
Holy Cross 22-9 in men¹s lacrosse action, Saturday afternoon at Andy Kerr
Stadium. The 22 goals is the most Colgate gas scored since topping Vermont
20-15 in 1997.

Collelouri score the Raiders first four goals en route to a record setting
day while senior Brandon Corp (Chittenango, N.Y.) extended his scoring steak
38-games off two-goals and four assists for a six point outing. Senior Nick
Monastero (Bohemia, N.Y.) finished the day with five points off two goals
and three assists.

Colgate (2-3, 1-0) jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the first quarter and
extended it to11-0 midway through the second. Colleluori led the opening
charge with his first six goals while Monastero recorded both of his. Corp
also recorded all four of his assists during that span. The Raiders closed
the first half with a 12-2 lead as junior Andrew Parietti (Seattle, Wash.),
sophomore Ben McCabe (Brunswick, Maine) and junior Ian Murphy (Constantia,
N.Y.) all recorded goals.

Corp and Parietti opened the second half with their second goals of the game
to extend the lead to 14-2. Holy Cross (0-4, 0-1) would not give up as they
responded with three unanswered goals to trim the lead to 14-5, forcing
Colgate to call a timeout. Colleluori finished the third quarter with his
seventh goal of the contest to put the Raiders up 15-5 entering the fourth.

Four different Raiders recorded goals in the fourth quarter as every Raider
on the roster received playing time. Senior Will Planer (Rumson, N.J.) began
the quarter with his first goal of the season and was followed by freshman
John Donnally (Madison, N.J.) who recorded his first collegiate goal. Senior
Spencer Cooperman (Englewood, Colo.) and junior James Yetter (Skillman,
N.J.) then finished the contest with a pair goals apiece two give Colgate a
22-9 victory.

Junior Tim Harrington (Lutherville, Md.) tallied five stops in goal for
Colgate during the first 25 minutes of the contest as all four net minders
saw playing time. Connor Sweeney posted nine saves for the Crusaders.

Colgate heads to Connecticut next weekend for an afternoon showdown with the
Fairfield Stags. The game is slated to begin at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March
14.
