Huguely Appealing Conviction in Love Case
Attorneys for former Virginia men's lacrosse player George Huguely are appealing his second-degree murder conviction in the death of Yeardley Love, the Associated Press and multiple Charlottesville, Va., news outlets reported Tuesday.
The attorneys on Tuesday filed an appeal in Charlottesville Circuit Court. Huguely was sentenced to 23 years in prison in that very same court on Aug. 30.
According to the AP, Huguely's attorneys did not outline a basis for their appeal. Judge Edward Hogshire rejected a number of claims in August when Huguely sought a new trial, including improper jury instructions.
