Nice that my first blog post on the redesigned LaxMagazine.com has to do with my new job instead of my current one.
I guess I should clarify. As you'll read in the May issue of Lacrosse Magazine, I'll be moving from the editor's chair into a PR/marketing position with US Lacrosse. Working on the magazine has been a very rewarding experience, but this opportunity presented itself, and it's time to tackle a new challenge. Plus, after almost eight years as the LM editor, the magazine could probably use a fresh voice.
I'll be on the magazine until a new editor is hired, but I'll try to dabble into my new role as well.
First up in that respect, a nugget for US Lacrosse members who root for the Maryland Terrapins or North Carolina Tar Heels. The University of Maryland and US Lacrosse have teamed up to offer US Lacrosse members free tickets to these ACC rivals' men's (March 26) and women's (April 9) showdowns in College Park, Md. That's right, free tix. Just show your US Lacrosse member ID card at the ticket booth, walk in, and enjoy the games. Both games start at noon.
More bonuses for Terp fans, courtesy of Maryland Athletics. The first 500 US Lacrosse members (family and friends included) that purchase tickets to the Maryland-Johns Hopkins men's game April 16 in College Park will receive a free Maryland Lacrosse t-shirt with each ticket purchased. To take advantage of this ticket offer, US Lacrosse members should call Katie Thompson in the Maryland athletics department at 301-314-1517.
