Former UConn Goalie Dies in Car Accident
Brittney Testa, a senior goalkeeper last spring for the UConn women's lacrosse team, died Friday after losing control of her vehicle on River Road in Willington, Conn. She was 24.
While the cause of the crash remains under investigation, sources within the New England lacrosse community have said Testa's Jeep Cherokee rolled over after skidding on a patch of black ice. She was not wearing a seatbelt, according to police documents obtained by local media, and was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
Testa, a native of Bridgewater, Vt., started 32 games for the Huskies in 2011 and 2012. She was the backup goalie in 2013, when UConn finished 13-5 and advanced to its first-ever NCAA tournament.
