Warrior Reprises Classic with New Cobra Head
by Matt DaSilva | Lacrosse Magazine Online Staff
Remember the Cobra? Warrior's first lacrosse head? It's back.
Warrior Lacrosse will launch the new Cobra line, a modern reprisal of the stick that put the popular manufacturer on the map in the 1990s, in May. It's a "complete reinvention of that classic design," said Tom Burns, lacrosse product manager for Warrior Sports.
The new Cobra has already been released for use by NCAA, MLL and U.S. team players and will be available in retail stores May 15. The head comes in two specifications, "Traditional" and "X." The Cobra Traditional meets NFHS and youth lacrosse specifications, while the Cobra X meets universal specifications for all levels of play.
Among the new Cobra's components:
· Reinforced throat design for targeted stiffness and the
ultimate in control.
· Ultra lightweight sidewall design that emphasizes
stiffness in the bottom section, where the most amount of flex
occurs in a head.
· New raised ball stop that helps prevent the ball from
being dislodged in the pocket.
· Warrior's patented "Insert" molding process allows for a
two-tone color hit for a completely unique and customized look.
