Duke's Carroll Featured on CBS Morning News

Duke defenseman and Army Ranger veteran Casey Carroll was featured on today's CBS Morning News for his unique story having come back to lacrosse to play his final year of eligibility after serving for four years as a U.S. Army Ranger in Iraq and Afghanistan.

According to Carroll, he was contacted by the network for the story after someone there read Corey McLaughlin's feature in the April issue of Lacrosse Magazine (available online here).

With the nature of the story and the fact that Duke is playing for its second straight NCAA title on Memorial Day weekend, we suspect we will be seeing more of this being told in the media this week - which is great, because this is the kind of story you love to see associated with our sport in the national media.

Watch the piece below:

After four deployments in four years, 29-year-old Casey Carroll has helped lead Duke to the semi-finals of the NCAA Men's Lacrosse Tournament. CBS News' Mark Strassmann reports on what it is like to play with teammates 10 years his junior, and how one man's sacrifice changed his life.
