Lacrosse Magazine's "Best of Lacrosse 2012" series recognizes the players, coaches, teams and moments that shined above all others in our sport this year. We want to know what you think. Fans can vote for their favorites in 10 categories. The results of each poll will be published alongside staff selections in the December issue of Lacrosse Magazine. Voting ends Monday, Oct. 29 at 3 p.m. Eastern.

Nominees for Best Women's Player
Taylor Cummings, McDonogh (Md.)
Cummings ended her prep career in dramatic fashion – she
forced a turnover and scored the game-winner in the IAAM A
conference championship with 9.8 seconds on the clock, defeating
Maryvale, 12-11. It was the 200th goal of her career. She also had
111 career assists. As a senior, the midfielder tallied 61 goals
and 30 assists. McDonogh (Md.) finished the season as the nation's
top-ranked team and Cummings won LM girls' player of the year honors
for the second straight year.
Brittany Dashiell, Florida
The Gators' first Tewaaraton finalist
finished in the top four of all Florida's major statistical
categories. The junior midfielder led the team in points (69) and
assists (25), was second with caused turnovers (17), third in goals
(44) and draw controls (46) and fourth in ground balls (31).
Katie Schwarzmann, Maryland
The junior midfielder won three major individual prizes this
season – the ACC Offensive Player of the Year, the IWLCA
Midfielder of the Year Award and the Tewaaraton Award. She scored in
every game, leading the Terps with 72 goals. She was No. 2 on the
team in ground balls (31), draw controls (52) and caused turnovers
(17) too.
Taylor Thornton, Northwestern
Thorton, the 2011 IWLCA Defender of the Year, had a different role
this season, but she performed just as well. As a more offensively
minded midfielder, the junior more than doubled her points total
from 15 to 34, and still led the team in ground balls (58).
Thornton was a Tewaaraton finalist and earned her
second first-team All-America nod.
Michelle Tumolo, Syracuse
The IWLCA Attacker of the Year is best remembered for her
offensive efforts (52 goals, 43 assists) but she led the team in
caused turnovers (26) too. Her tenacity was evident in the Orange's
postseason, where she had a major hand in Syracuse's comeback wins
over North Carolina in the quarterfinals and Florida
in the semifinals. Tumolo was also a Tewaaraton finalist.
