Florida Senior Accepts Post-Game Proposal
Last night's 22-1 victory by the No. 2 ranked Gators' win over first-year program Stetson wasn't a surprise, but what came afterwards was, to (almost) everyone. Senior defender Emily Dohony got an on-field marriage proposal from her high school sweetheart, Ryan Moeller, and said yes. The video is below; the proposal stuff starts around 2:26. Moeller hid out in the press box during the game so Dohony wouldn't suspect anything, and goalkeeper Cara Canington snuck him onto the field. (Canington is No. 25; you can see her in the background of the proposal with a flip cam.)
Dohony finished the day with 1 ground ball and 1 fiancé. (That’s a little statistics humor for you all.) As you can see in the picture below, posted by Gators junior midfielder Krista Grabher on Twitter, Dohony is a fortunate girl. She has supportive teammates, a new fiancé, a lovely engagement ring and an immaculate post-game manicure. Congrats on all of it!
